Key Takeaways
- Ajman Free Zone says each business package carries a different visa allocation and that the quota follows the location (AFZ FAQ, undated).
- Visas beyond the package allocation need Immigration approval, and the AFZ FAQ does not present quota as something you buy.
- Ajman Media City packages carry 0, 1, 2 and 3 visas at AED 4,999, 12,999, 17,999 and 22,999 a year (October 2026).
- MOHRE lists a basic health insurance package at AED 320 a year, and employee health insurance has been mandatory in all emirates, Ajman included, since 1 January 2025.
- No authority publishes a total time from application to visa; ICP lists 2 days for entry visa issuance (2026).
An Ajman free zone visa is a residence visa through a company in Ajman, and the number of visas is set by the package and the location. Some cost lines belong to the zone and others to federal authorities, and the quote should separate them in writing before you pay. The wider comparison is in company setup in the UAE.

How visa allocation works in AFZ
Ajman Free Zone (AFZ) sets visa allocation by package and location. Its FAQ says every business package has a different number of visas and that the quota follows the location (AFZ FAQ, undated). Each free zone sets its own allowance, and it usually follows the office or desk type, which is why a figure from another zone proves nothing here.
AFZ shows prices through a cost calculator and publishes no package table, so the visa count has to be read off your own quotation. The guide to the Ajman Free Zone setup covers the licence side.
Ajman freelance visa limits for freelancer and Pioneer licences
Freelancer companies and Pioneer licences carry different visa entitlements at AFZ. AFZ's licence-types page says sole professional (freelancer) members are eligible for one residence visa, while its FAQ says a freelancer company can apply for two visas. Ask AFZ to confirm in writing how many visas your licence carries. The FAQ adds that a Pioneer licence carries one visa, for the owner.
The Pioneer package at Ajman Media City (AMC) is a different product from that licence, with two visas at AED 17,999 (AMC package page, as of October 2026).
Ajman Media City visa tiers
AMC ties visas to its package tier, from none to three. These are annual zone packages, not a government tariff, as of October 2026 (AMC package page):
- Business Club at AED 4,999 with no visa, renewing at AED 4,999.
- Visionary at AED 12,999 with 1 visa, renewing at AED 8,999.
- Pioneer at AED 17,999 with 2 visas, renewing at AED 10,999.
- Innovator at AED 22,999 with 3 visas, renewing at AED 14,999.
Ask AMC whether VAT is added and whether the package price covers the government fees of each visa or only the allocation.
Extra quota and Immigration approval
Visas beyond the package allocation need Immigration approval, according to the AFZ FAQ. The FAQ does not describe quota as something you raise by paying more. Count your planned hires before you choose the package, because a hire beyond the allocation waits for that approval. A PRO (the person who handles government paperwork) or an adviser who files such requests regularly can prepare the request.
Once the quota is settled, the federal step is short on paper. ICP, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security, lists 2 days for entry visa issuance and requires entry within 60 days (ICP service page, 2026). No authority publishes a total time from application to visa in hand.
Ajman free zone visa cost lines
Several cost lines make up a free zone visa, and the zone sets only some of them. The zone prices the allocation and the establishment card. ICP charges for the entry visa and the Emirates ID, whose fee for residents scales with the years of residence. The medical fitness test depends on the centre and the speed. The live ICP table should be checked before you add them up.
Prices differ widely between zones. DMCC's schedule of charges lists its establishment card at AED 1,825 a year. Its visa charges sit in the same schedule. A Dubai figure cannot be carried over to Ajman.
Health insurance is a further line. Since 1 January 2025 employers in all emirates, Ajman included, must provide health insurance for private-sector workers, and MOHRE lists a basic package at AED 320 a year. Ask AFZ or AMC which policy they accept for your visa file.
What to ask for in writing
Put these points in the written quote before you pay, and compare it against the Ajman mainland route if your customers are local:
- the visa count of the package and the facility or location it depends on.
- whether the price includes government visa fees, the medical test, the Emirates ID and the establishment card.
- the establishment card price and its renewal.
- whether VAT is added.
- who files the Immigration approval for any visa beyond the allocation.
Use the same list for any zone in the free zones in the UAE, listed by emirate.
